Before joining Mercantile & Maritime, Abhilash served as Deputy Head of IT and Global Head of Infrastructure and Cybersecurity at OQ Trading, where he spearheaded digital transformation initiatives that enhanced trading performance, reduced operational costs by 30%, and strengthened cybersecurity posture through AI-driven detection and automation. He previously held senior roles at Emirates NBD and Barclays Bank, leading major cloud migration, virtualization, and security programs across the MENA region.
He is recognized for architecting future-ready IT ecosystems that balance innovation with compliance, advancing automation, cloud integration, and AI adoption. Abhilash holds an MBA in Information Systems from the University of Chichester (UK) and a BSc in Computer Science from Kerala University, alongside multiple global certifications in cybersecurity, risk, and enterprise IT governance.
