Chief of Staff

Gati Al-Jebouri is the Chief of Staff for Mercantile & Maritime Group, where he oversees strategic execution and governance on behalf of the Group CEO in driving strategic transformation, operational excellence, and governance across the Group’s global trading, logistics, and infrastructure portfolio. He brings over 30 years of international leadership experience across the energy and commodities sectors, combining executive depth with a proven record of transformation, risk control, and sustainable growth.

Before joining Mercantile & Maritime, Gati held senior leadership roles at LUKOIL, including Vice President and Head of Upstream for the Middle East and North Africa and CEO of LITASCO, the company’s global trading arm with annual revenues exceeding USD 50 billion. During his tenure, he led complex upstream and midstream operations, executed major contract negotiations across Iraq and the wider region, and delivered multi-million-dollar profitability improvements through organizational restructuring and disciplined risk management. He also served as Deputy Minister of Finance for Bulgaria, overseeing fiscal reform and foreign investment frameworks.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Gati holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol. He is recognized for his ability to integrate financial discipline with commercial strategy, guiding multinational teams and large-scale energy organizations through growth, transformation, and global expansion.
